Boarding at LSH

Request Boarding \\ Current Boarders \\ Feed Schedules

We're horse owners. We show, breed, and care for our very own horses; therefore, we know how horse owners feel, and we know how much horse owners want the best for their horses. That's why we've set up our boarding to be completely personalized, allowing you to decide exactly how your horses will be cared for.

All of the horses on our property receive the same level of care. Our horses don't get better feed, better stalls, better pastures, or better attention than any of our boarders' horses. They all live in the same barns, they get turned out together, and they have the same caretakers. Here is a brief list of what all of the horses on the property receive:

Boarding Plans
Pasture Board: $175/month
For those horses who are turned out to mature or kept only as pasture decorations. All horses on this plan are turned out with up to 8 others in a large pasture with access to fresh water and waterproof shelter. They are given hay daily (twice daily in winter) but no grain.

Plan One: Basic: $250/month
For the average, lightly shown horse or pony. Your horse will be kept in a 14' x 14' stall when needed and during feeding times; otherwise, this plan includes plenty of pasture time in a pasture with access to fresh water and waterproof shelter. These horses are hayed daily (twice in winter) and grained according to owners' instructions.

Plan Two: Premium: $325/month
For the actively competing horse or pony. Your horse will be stabled in our main barn in a cozy 14' x 14' stall with an automatic waterer. Turnout is per appropriate weather conditions, but should be from 6 - 8 hours daily in a pasture with compatible fieldmates and access to fresh water and waterproof shelter. Stalls are picked out three times daily and cleaned once, and grain is fed up to three times daily per your instructions. We can groom daily if you wish. Exercise is not included.

Plan Three: Training Board: $---
Training board is currently unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Plan Four: Broodmare Care: $400/month
For the pregnant or nursing mother. In addition to the features of our Premium plan, your mare will be housed in a spacious 20' x 20' stall in our quiet foaling barn, monitored 24 hours a day by cameras and frequent check-ins. She will be turned out and/or hand-walked when able. When the foal is born, we will take care of imprinting and halter-breaking if you like. The foal will be kept with the mare for no extra charge until weaning.

Plan Five: Stallions: $350/month
For the competition or non-breeding stallion. He will be kept in a 16' x 16' stall in our secluded stallion barn and turned out in a private half-acre paddock. Note: we will NOT accommodate breedings on this plan, though you are welcome to use our breeding facilities to handle your own breedings.

Requesting Boarding

Interested in boarding at Legacy? Please make sure you understand this important information before proceeding...

Boarding Availability: In order to maintain our personal boarding plans, we cannot take on an astronomical number of boarders. Therefore, we have only enough space to accommodate the number of horses we feel we can comfortably care for. Once these stalls are filled, there is no way we can fit your horses onto our property, sorry! You can be placed on a waiting list if you so desire, but we strongly recommend you find boarding elsewhere in the meantime.

Feed Routine: For convenience purposes, we purchase all of our feed at Gray Mare Feed and Supply. Our horses are worked into carefully designed feed schedules according to their size and workload. We recognize that many horses do not fit into this "cookie-cutter" style of feeding, and welcome your personalizations to our pre-designed plans.

Payment Schedule: Board is due on the 10th of each month. If you request boarding after the 20th of the month, you are not required to pay for that month. (I.e., if you request boarding on the 25th of February, you do not have to pay for February, and your first board check is due 10th March. If you include a check with your request on 25th February, the money will cover your March board.) Please submit your board checks to "Legacy Sport Horses" via the Clip Clop Credit Union.
