Feed Schedules
Instead of creating a custom feed regimen for each horse (which gets very confusing--we've tried!), Legacy has arranged a series of "feed schedules" designed to accommodate the majority of our horses. This allows us to easily calculate the exact amount of feed we need to purchase each month and streamlines our feeding process, but still allows for customization of each horse's diet in the way of supplements and additives.
Boarders are asked to choose the appropriate feed schedule for their horses from the pre-determined schedules we have designed. If your horse needs extra vitamins or supplements, we will happily add them to your horse's feed as often as necessary. If you truly believe that none of our schedules are appropriate for your horse, feel free to contact us and something will be worked out.
Please note: All of our feed schedules are designed to accommodate horses in HEAVY WORK conditions. Because all of our horses are rigorously schooled and competed in stressful sporting events, it is necessary that we provide for their needs. In the future, we may add "pasture horse," "light riding horse," or "retired horse" plans as needed. For now, please request individualized schedules for any horses that do not require heavy feeding.
You may find it easier to compare your horses to our horses and determine which schedule they might do well on. To view Legacy's horses' feed schedules, please visit our feed schedule spreadsheet.
